Introduction of Internet

          Internet is an interconnection several computers of different types belonging to various networks across the world. It is a network of networks. Millions of people use the internet to search and share information and ideas etc.
Internet is a computer based worldwide information network.
          The Internet started as a U.S. Government project in the year 1969 called the ARPANET (Advanced Research Project Administrator Network) which supervised it in the beginning. The ARPANET reached universities, research laboratories and some military labs.

इन्टरनेट एक दुसरे से जुड़े कई कंप्यूटरों का जाल है जो राउटर एवं सर्वर के माध्यम से दुनिया के किसी भी कंप्यूटर को आपस में जोड़ता है. दुसरे शब्दों में कहे तो सूचनाओ के आदान प्रदान करने के लिए TCP/IP Protocol के माध्यम से दो कंप्यूटरों के बीच स्थापित सम्बन्ध को internet कहते हैं. इन्टरनेट विश्व का सबसे बड़ा नेटवर्क है.

Introduction of URL (Uniform Resource Locators)
Uniform Resource locators, or URLs, are the unique addresses of internet resources. A URL is divided into four parts.

·            Transfer Protocol
·            Server name
·            Directory name
·            File name

Be careful while typing a URL into a web browser; a single wrong character in the address will give an error message or download the wrong web page.

किसी वेबसाइट का अद्वितीय नाम या पता, जिससे उसे इंटरनेट पर जाना, पहचाना और उपयोग किया जाता है, उसका URL कहा जाता है। इसे Uniform Resource Locator भी कहा जाता है। किसी वेब पते का सामान्य रूप निम्न प्रकार होता है। यहाॅ type उस सर्वर का type बताता है, जिससे वह फाइल उपलब्ध है और Address उस साइट का पता बताता है।
Internet Protocol (IP)
Ip is method by which data is sent from one computer to any another over the network. Each computer that is connected to thee internet has at least one IP address which uniquely identifies this computer from other computers. All other computers. All other types of protocols, which are used to send data on the internet.
A protocol is a set of rules for exchanging information on the internet. Internet protocol (IP) is responsible for the addressing and sending of data from one computer to another.

Transmission Control Protocol (TCP)
It uses a set of rules to exchange messages with other internet points at the information packet level.

Web Browser
          A web browser is a program that resides on your PC and can display text, images and multimedia data found on different web pages. It allows you to specify a web page. Navigate using link and bookmark your favorite web pages. The commonly used web browsers are internet explorer, Netscape navigator and mozilla firefox google chrome.
